Colour in my Garden - March 2007
A week ago I was planning to take photos of succulents for my monthly mosiac... a last resort for me... but when I spent the time looking around the garden today I came up with 16 photos, not bad for Autumn when Sydney doesn't really have an Autumn!!
(I may have to resort to succulents next month and yes I can hear my DM Rosie and DS2 Gwilym shaking their heads wondering why succulents aren't my favourite as they are theirs LOL.)

Charlie's Excited!
Charlie thought the boot of my car was a very funny place to be while
Nerys and I fitted Abigail's car seat next to Matilda's capsule in readiness for an early morning start to the Airport.
We just had an iChat with all four of them from Hong Kong Airport, they fly out in one hour.
Only one more sleep.

Just testing...
Both Jackson and Charlie made a beeline for the Kids Kitchen when they arrived from Swimming this morning, Jackson is having a sleep over all by himself tonight, he rang me especially to ask me earlier this morning and what a help he's been... we had his favourite vegetable Broccoli, he broke off all the little trees, he put them in the dish, he put the lid on, he put it in the microwave, he pressed the right button five times, he pressed start... he rushed back when he heard the dings and opened the microwave but he didnt' take the hot dish out... Pennie did that. Jack also helped with the rest of the meal... how have I managed with out him I wonder.
Only two more sleeps.

Gwilym & Emily's Engagement Party
Today we celebrated the Engagement of Gwilym and Emily... twice... for Brunch we had about 50 family members, then for Afternoon Tea we had about 50 friends. Speeches were kept to a minimum but this one from one of Emma's old school friends needs noting... it was writen on a card that said 'Life is Weird'.
To my Dearest Em & Gwil,
Finding the love of your life at 19 is pretty weird. hanging onto that person (inspite of crazy jobs, crazy exes and crazy partying)... that's even weirder.
Travelling the world with that person and not wanting to rip their head off somewhere along the way... That's extremely weird.
And pulling off a Paris proposal withOUT it being even remotely cheesy... well that's the weirdest thing of all!
But somehow when I think of all the above in relation to you guys, it's not weird. It's just COMPLETELY AWESOME.
Happy Engagement, I love you both. Em xxx

Cane Pram
I bought this old cane dolls pram from the 'Junksmiths' in Surrey Hills way back in 1971 for 50 cents, it had already had a lot of love and continued to have much more while our girls were young. Down from the Loft it came to have a through overhaul in the Turramurra Bus Workshop, enjoying a complete lube and paint job. In the meantime I was busy in the Quilt Workshop making a new mattress, pillow, sheets, blanket and little quilt... all ready and waiting for Abigail's favourite doll.

What the???
Up into the Loft I went and dug around for little girl toys that Nerys and Briony used to play with, our home is so full of little boy things and with Abigail Rose and Matilda May arriving in 10 days time I thought it would be good to balance the toys a bit.
The Lorikeets were fascinated in the old dolls furniture, they didn't sit on it though :-)

A Song for me... by my Dad :-)
(To be sung to the tune of "Inky Pinky Parlez Vous")
Oh, Pennie Jane came home to-day
Hoo-ray, Hoo -ray,
Oh, Pennie Jane came home to-day
Hoo-ray, Hooray !
But Pennie has to go back again
Boo-Hoo, Boo,Hoo!
But Pennie has to go back again
Despite the storm and the rain
Inky Pinky Parlez-vous - BOO HOO!
Dadparip.
