Great Grandmothers Tablecloth.

P6040014.JPG, originally uploaded by Pennie David.

I love this little tablecloth, I've had it for years and years but only use it for special occasions like Charlie Ripley's Baby Naming and it was then that Mum told me that my Great Grandmother made it but never finished it because the flowers should have been filled in... I love it just as it is with just a hint of Nasturtiums growing wild.

Your mention of nasturtiums brings back many memories for me Pennie. We had family friends who lived at 33 Bennett Ave Neutral Bay and they had a very big bed (read huge)of them.I loved the people and the house, both long since gone ans remeber the flowers. But last year whilst walking in N.Bay there was buiders in the home and I could actually see inside the home and remembered all the features such as the black and white tiled floor and the view to the harbour bridge. The thing I couldn't see but could visualise was me at 3 years old (OK about 1951)washing up Clarice Cliff dinner set whilst standing on a chair and outside the window was the same frangipani tree that flowered all those years ago.
